The saying that "life is a dream" doesn't mean the physical universe is an illusion, but that spiritual reality, Ultimate Reality, is much more substantial, although it seems less so here in "Dreamland." The dream is that we are completely separate beings, mortal and detached from God, and in our inability to realize we are dreaming like in the movie when wyilie tries to change the lighting conditions or when he tries to chech his watch

tryinng to wake

The one who seeks should not cease seeking until he finds. And when he finds, he will be dismayed. And when he is dismayed, he will be astonished. And he will be king over the All.

dreams

Dreams. What are they? An escape from reality or reality itself? Waking Life follows the dream(s) of one man and his attempt to find and discern the absolute difference between waking life and the dreamworld. While trying to figure out a way to wake up, he runs into many people on his way; some of which offer one sentence asides on life, others delving deeply into existential questions and life's mysteries. We become the main character. It becomes our dream and our questions being asked and answered. Can we control our dreams? What are they telling us about life? About death? About ourselves and where we come from and where we are going? The film does not answer all these for us. Instead, it inspires us to ask the questions and find the answers ourselves.

ring of fire

Love is a burnin' thing,An' it makes a firy ring.Brought from wild desireI fell into a ring of fire.
I fell into a burnin' ring of fire.I went down, down, down, and the flames went higher. And it burns, burns, burns, that ring of fire, that ring of fire.
I fell into a burning ring of fire.I went down, down, down, and the flames went higher. And it burns, burns, burns, that ring of fire, that ring of fire. The taste of love is sweetWhen hearts like ours meet.I fell for you like a child.Oh, but the fire went wild.
I fell into a burning ring of fire.I went down, down, down, and the flames they went higher. And it burns, burns, burns, that ring of fire, that ring of fire johnny cash

the indian

what was going on?
In this story there is an indian that only picks up fellow indians that are trying to hitchhike, in the story he picks up a hitchhiker that calls himself a great fighter who just gave up in the lasst fight (pussy), he could have gone till he passed out or tripped the giant, he claimed to be fighting, or was the fight in himself with his sexuality and he must have lost if that was what happed because the hitchhiker winds up staying in a hotel with him then he woke up to find the fighter naked playing with him and he winds up having gay but love with the stranger. But in the story after he is defiled he asks the man to leave and as he goes the reporter watches the man walk and fade into the distance and I do not know what this means like his manhood fading away or something.

my voive

my voice
I am one of three children I have an older very independent and completly self sufficientsister who can do everything completly alone. I also have an elder brother who is fairly needey in all aspects of his life he thinks it is just hard on him but in reality he just doesnt know how to manage anything.
I am from a fairly average middle class family in the heart of bozeman I spent my child hood trying but failing horribly to do sports it didnt matter which ones I tried to do I was horrible at them all except little league I did good at the baseball but I hated it it is so bloody booring that I could hardly contain myself.
My mother is from an average middle class familythatt both parents worked she has one younger brother. My father is from a slightly higher class family only his father worked and his mother stayed home to raise his five younger brothers and sisters. Being from a family that large he was on his own pretty much ever since he was 18 and out of highschool.
Growing up in this family my parents were quick to teach me the value of a dollar, what hard work can do for you and to always love and cherish your family so I have always tried my hardest anddone my best to keep myself busy.

displaced fairy tale

The old man

In the depths of Wyoming there lived an old widower and his daughter. In time, the man remarried to an older woman who had a daughter herself from a previous marriage. The woman doted on her own daughter, loving and praising her at every opportunity, but she despised her new stepdaughter. She made it so that every thing the new daughter did was wrong and made the girl work longer and harder in a day than the other girl did in a year. One day the old woman made up her mind to rid herself of the usless stepdaughter once and for all. She ordered her new husband, "Take her somewhere so that my eyes will no longer have to stained with her, so that my ears wont have to hear her her complain. And don't take her to some relative's house. Take her into the biting cold of the rockymountain forest and leave her there."
The old man grieved and wept tried to reason with her at no end, but he knew that he could do nothing else; his wife always had her way. So he took the girl into the forest and left her there. He turned and ran back quickly so that he wouldn't have to see his daughter freeze.

Oh, the poor thing, sitting there in the snow, with her body shivering and her teeth chattering! Sneaking from tree to tree, came upon her in the middle of the forest.
"Are you warm, little girl?" he asked.
"Uhhhhhh. Yes...., I am quite warm," she said, even though she was frozen to the bone.

At first, he had wanted to leave the girl there and let the life freeze out of her with his icy grin. But he admired the young girl's stoicism and showed mercy. He gave her his warm fur coat and down quilts before he left.

In a short while, the old man returned to check on the girl. "Are you warm, my lass?" he asked.

" Yes, I am very warm, thank you" she said. And indeed she was warmer. So this time the old man brought a large box for her to sit on.

A little later, the old man returned once more to ask how she was doing. She was doing quite well now, and this time the old man gave her silver and gold jewelry to wear, with enough extra jewels to fill the box on which she was sitting!

Meanwhile, back at her father's hut, the old woman told her grief stricken husband to go back into the forest and fetch the body of his daughter. "Bring back what's left of her," she ordered. The tired husband did as he was told and went back into the woods. Joy overwhelmed him when he saw his daughter was still alive, wrapped in a sable coat and adorned with silver and gold!

When he arrived home with his daughter and the box of jewels, his wife looked on in amazement.

"Start the car, you old bastard, and take my own daughter to that same spot in the forest and leave her there," she said with greed in her eye. The old man did as he was told.
Like the other girl at first, the old woman's daughter began to shake and shiver. In a short while, the old man came by and asked her how she was doing.

"Are you blind?" she snapped. "Can't you see that my hands and feet are quite numb? Curse you, you miserable old man!"

Dawn had hardly broken the next day when, back at the hut, the old woman woke her husband and told him to bring back her daughter, adding, "Be careful with the box of jewels." The old man obeyed and went to get the girl.

A short while later, the gate to the yard creaked. The old woman went outside and saw her husband standing next to the sleigh. She rushed forward and pulled aside the sleigh's cover. To her horror, she saw the body of her daughter, frozen by the angry old man. She began to scream and berate her husband, but it was all in vain.

Later, the man's daughter married a neighbor, had children, and lived happily. Her father would visit his grandchildren every now and then, and remind them always to respect whom ever they meet.

Lost Book Found

Philosophical detective story? Portrait of New York? Chronicle of obsession? Lost Book Found is all these, and something else for which we don't yet have a name. A sidewalk pushcart vendor becomes haunted by a cryptic book of lists - phrases, places, names, numbers - which tantalisingly seems to find systems in the city's chaos. In the same way, Cohen's hallucinatory short film (6 years in the making) resonates long after it's over. His sideways gaze at fleeting moments - plastic bags in the wind (years before American Beauty), lost objects glittering in the gutter, people passing one another on the pavement - will change the way you see the world. http://www.thecontext.com/docs/2690.html

soul flight paper

soul flight
Have you ever wanted to be at complete peace with yourself, knowing who you are and what you’re here for? A soul flight is the exploration of oneself which is one of the most influential intoxicating forces of consciousness exploring life at its most meaningful way to get your own sense of direction and purpose. All human beings have a fundamental need to explore the unknown which is getting smaller by the day but the soul is un mappable. You may be searching for the inner universe of mind, emotion and consciousness or the dynamics of subtle energies that connects all things. A way to achieve this inner enlightenment is to meditate such as monks do in the Himalayas. Meditation is finding healing in deep relaxation, reviving your spirit of exploration. Well in the mountain poem by Wallace Stevenson he was at peace with himself at or on the mountain he longed for the feeling with the rest in his soul. He was using the poem for his utopia that is where he can be at one in himself on top of the world and feel above everybody else it also helped him just keep on keeping on.
In the break of day poem by Jorge Luis Borges he claims that the whole world is a mental activity a dream, of, souls . . . but immortal like a Forrest or a river. That means that the world is what you make it in your place it can be nice if you take care of it or bad if you just let it go with the rest. Such as a majestic flower beautiful when in blossom and tendered to but ugly when tired and wilted and long forgotten from the world.
Like in the excerpt from into the wild by Jon. krauker, mckindless wants to be at rest with himself and he decides that the only way to achieve inner enlightenment to be at a complete peace with the world your nature and every thing in your presence. Mckindless wants to be completely removed from society and goes off into the wilderness to try and survive by himself and live entirely off the land, and he hugely miscalculated what he was doing. And in the end his soul flight wound up leading to his eventual death.
this is an extreme case of the need for inner enlightenment. it is very rare that this extreme need of enlightenment is needed. Some people can pass this off as a mid-life crisis and buy a new car, go to Europe or something but they cope with it better than killing themselves by accident to be at peace and feel complete with the world.

mountain poem

i think that the mountain poem is stevens utopia it is where he can be one with himself on top of the worldand feel above or even better than everyone else it also helped him just keep on keepin on.
